Kate is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL where she received a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). She is nationally board certified by the NCCAOM and licensed in the state of Illinois. She received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Otterbein College. Kate’s master’s degree training consists of a four-year, 3,000-hour program with instruction in Western medical anatomy, physiology and patho-physiology, Chinese medical theory, which includes acupuncture, herbology & therapeutic massage, as well as over 1,000 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Kate has gained additional clinical experience working at Chicago Women’s Health Center where she treated patients with a host of different women’s health disorders. Kate completed an internship with Frank Scott, L.Ac where she gained extensive experience in Chinese herbology. She is the secretary of the Illinois Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ILAAOM) and is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM). Kate has experience treating women’s health conditions (such as infertility, pre-menstrual syndrome, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), irregular/painful menstrual cycles, menopause-related symptoms, pregnancy, and postpartum), digestive disorders, anxiety, depression, general pain, cancer treatment side effects, stress, post-stroke symptoms, sinus problems, and thyroid disorders. She uses acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Chinese therapeutic massage, nutritional therapy and other accessory techniques to promote healing and well-being. In her free time she enjoys cooking, yoga, painting, reading and spending time with family and friends.
