Kelly Kay earned a Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, graduating in 2012. She also holds an undergraduate BS degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a major in Medical Microbiology and Immunology.
Kelly has completed additional continuing education courses to learn Japanese Meridian Style acupuncture, which is a very gentle, subtle form of acupuncture that is wonderful for people who are needle sensitive or depleted due to chronic illness or advanced age. In addition, Kelly has extensive training in Esoteric Acupuncture, and style of acupuncture that focuses on treating mood and emotional regulation, especially helping anxiety shift into serenity and joy.
Kelly Kay has been practicing acupuncture since 2012 in her own private practice in NW Chicago before joining Aligned Modern Health. She has experience successfully treating a wide variety of conditions and age ranges – she has treated children as young as 7 years old, as well as patients in their 80’s.
Kelly Kay specializes in emotional regulation with a focus on calming anxiety and providing stress relief. Kelly has extensive experience treating women’s health conditions, especially fertility and alleviating symptoms of menopause. Kelly enjoys treating children and utilizes her subtle, Japanese style of acupuncture for pediatric patients.

What are you most passionate about professionally? Personally?
Professionally, I am passionate about keeping the integrity of my work high and giving my absolute best treatment possible to each and every patient, each and every time.
Personally, I am passionate about inner growth, self-honesty, and seeing every experience in life as a way to learn and evolve.
What three traits define you?

What would you do even if you didn’t get paid to do it?
Write, especially fiction

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
What’s the biggest proof that you’re good at what you do?
I planned a move to Hawaii, so I referred my patients to other practitioners. When the move didn’t work out, my patients sought ME out and said they couldn’t find anyone who gave treatments exactly the way I do and were so excited I was back in Chicago!
What’s your biggest accomplishment?
Raising two young children while owning and operating a busy, successful acupuncture practice
What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
Getting to the root of why they are experiencing their current physical or emotional symptoms, and helping shift those symptoms for the better
What are you complimented on most in your work?
My compassionate, non-judgmental approach allows patients to be fully honest with themselves and with me regarding what is truly going on, which then leads to faster, more complete healing
Who is your ideal client and why should they connect with you?
My ideal clients are interested in healing on all levels: physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. My ideal clients are committed to deep, lasting well being and taking responsibility for their health, while I act as the guide to help get them there.
In your work or creative process, what concepts are sacred? Which rules have you made, which ones do you follow?
Focus completely on keeping the integrity of what you do high, whether it’s a treatment or a household chore. Set aside ego or pride, do the best you can without any attachment to receiving recognition in return. The devotion to a job well done is reward enough.
What is your grand, audacious goal? What do you wish people would know, believe, do?
I would love if all people recognized that even in our demanding society, it is possible to live a life of serenity, joyfulness and passion.
Do you have any family members or pets to include in your bio?
I have two fabulous children, Lily, age 9 and Conner, age 5. They have been my greatest teachers.
Do you have any other passions of personal goals that you would like to share?
My dream is to live in Hawaii, practicing acupuncture and swimming in the ocean every day.

Nia dancing, reading esoteric books, writing poetry
